Home › Platforms › How long your VODs survive on each platform
Every live platform stores past broadcasts on its own terms, and some of those terms include deletion.
Storage windows differ by platform and by account status, and they change. Anything you would be upset to lose needs to exist somewhere you control.
Bulk downloading a back catalogue is slow and gets slower as it grows. Doing it continuously is far easier than doing it in a panic.
Files on a drive preserve the footage but not the ability to find anything in it. Transcripts and timestamps are what make an archive usable years later.
Platform highlight tools keep fragments and discard context. They serve promotion, not preservation.
